Throwback to NYC

Lately, I have been looking through a lot of my older photos on my laptop and sorting through them. Among the millions of photos, I came across my NYC album from my visit last year!

Visiting NYC was absolutely amazing and just looking back through these photographs makes me want to go travelling even more! Travelling has always been something that excites me. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to experience the world and see all these amazing places. I often think that we live in such a beautifully complex and unique place and I just want to see it all. Now I know that the likelihood of me seeing EVERYWHERE is very slim but I sure would like to see a fair amount of it.

Travelling to me is quite possibly my biggest dream right now and I just wish that I could go right away. However, that, unfortunately, isn't possible as I have to finish my A-levels first. I just hope that when the opportunity comes, I take it.

Adding a cushion to the collection

I am currently in the process of re-decorating my room, meaning that I now actually have an excuse for buying home decor products. As mentioned in previous posts, I recently went on a little shopping spree and when in Primark spotted this adorable cushion.

I have recently become a little obsessed with decorative cushions for my bed as I feel that when my bed is made, my entire room looks better. So, when I came across the little gem at only £4, I fell in love. However, by the time I had reached the decor section of the shop, my basket was already pretty full and I had a budget to stick to. So, my lovely mum decided she was going to buy this cushion for me.

I am kind of in love with this cushion and it looks so cute in my room!

Summer Outfit Inspiration

I went on a little shopping spree last weekend and purchased a few Primark items, Instead of doing an ordinary clothing haul, I thought I would attempt a slightly different style by dedicating a blog post to each item, showing you how I would incorporate the item
into an outfit.

So, number 1 in these mini-series is this very simple, off the shoulder top. When I first came across this top I loved it, partially due to the fact that it reminded me of 'Grease' and partially because I love the whole 'off the shoulder' kind of style. However, I wasn't too sure about buying it as it is pretty clingy meaning it would show all of the not so slim parts of my body. Yet when I looked at the price and it was only £3 I thought 'oh screw it. I want to be Sandy from Grease!' and went ahead and threw it into my basket.

In terms of an outfit, this is what I threw together. This is just one of the many outfits that could be created with this top but I thought it looked pretty cute. I paired this top with my creamy coloured pleated skirt from H&M and my little boots and necklace from Primark as well.

I feel that this outfit would be great for a summer evening in particular and although the outfit doesn't feature an array of colours (something commonly seen in summer outfits), through adding a bright nail polish or even lipstick you could definitely brighten up this outfit.

My Baby Cactus

The other day, upon a little browsing in town, I stumbled upon these Cacti/Succulents in Wilkinsons and just had to buy them! I often see super cute room décor on Pinterest or Tumblr, full of desks and window sills with an adorable selection of little cactus. Despite my swooning over the cacti, I still never purchased any as I didn't really know where to get any and always thought they would be expensive. Yet, when I came across these little guys, I couldn't resist the temptation any longer.

The big succulent in the middle of the photograph above was £4 and the other small three cacti came together in a set of £4 also. I thought this was a very reasonable price and am so so very happy with this purchase.

I love my new little plants so much, I even decided to name them! The biggest one is called 'Carlos'. Then on the left (bottom pictures) is 'Judy', followed by 'Henry' and then 'Todd'. A little weird I know, but what can I say, it's love.

Eleanor & Park

As a fellow book lover, you can often find me snuggled up in some corner with a book. So, today I decided to dedicate to the last book I finished, 'Eleanor & Park' by Rainbow Rowell. Firstly, let me start by saying that I simply couldn't put the book down. It was all I could think about for ages and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Now I don't want to go and give away the story but I will say that this is a very sweet little romance book, yet it has a little more to it. It explored areas that aren't often visited in your everyday romance novel and touches upon difficult situations and emotions that come along the way

Now some say that I am simply pleased, however, I enjoyed this book a lot and would recommend it to those who (like myself) love a good love story (but with a little more to it).

Spring into Summer - OOTD

Having finally got my exams out of the way, I can now start to relax a little more. Today, with the weather being pretty decent I popped into town with my friend for a couple of hours. We did the usual browsing sesh with a hefty amount of giggles too. We both picked up some goodies, as well as having a good catch up!

Later on in the evening I then went on to play some ball games in the garden with my brother and sister. It was just one of those lovely spring into summer days that create lovely memories. So, of course, as a result, I wanted to share my outfit. I found this outfit very comfortable as well as suitable for the weather. Living in Britain, the weather is very unpredictable and not all that hot but this outfit was perfect for the day!

Top - H&M (or Primark?)
Trousers - Next
Cardigan - Primark
Shoes - ASOS
Watch - Oasis
Necklace - Primark
Glasses - Specsavers

Thanks for reading!

Family walks

The other day my brother, mum and I all went for a little walk up Cherill Hill. It was a little chilly due to the wind but the sun was occasionally peeping through the clouds and so we decided to make the most of the decent weather (Typical British weather being unpredictable). We took a little kite and had a lovely time walking up the hill. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the top for a couple of reasons. Firstly, we didn't have much time as we had other plans later on. However, the other and the probably bigger reason for this was due to the fact that my mum is terrified of cows! (due to a very unfortunate cow chasing incident). There were a nice little group of cows chilling at the top and so we decided not to go all the way to the top this time. However, it's little things like this that make life so special and I couldn't help but share.

My brother and I jumping in the flowers.

I love going on walks and who better to do so with than family.

Start of summer with the squad.

As spring begins to fade and summer starts (although you wouldn't believe it with this British weather lately) there are more and more opportunities to create memories, and what better way to do this than with friends.

Having a week off from exams, (most of) the girls and I decided to spend the day together at Corsham Court. We each prepared some food and set off for the day with our picnic bag and blanket. Now, since none of us can yet drive, we decided to walk. This took a little longer than we had previously thought but was a lot of fun and full of hilarious memories.

The entire day was so much fun and packed full of hilarious moments that won't soon be forgotten. We chatted and laughed and played games (getting a little competitive) the entire time and it was fabulous. The perfect break from our exam stress. These few pictures are from our walk to the Court.

Overall, we all had a fabulous day and can add this day to our many memories together.
